Drakes in Grove

Its okay. Very very old feeling, nothing like sitting on plastic covered furniture. Weekend Breakfast buffet is okayish, ran out of food several times and we had to wait. Came for dinner for the first time, it was okay. Nothing special. Chicken dinner has 3 sides included for $8.00, sandwich no side for the same price?? So i had to pay an extra two dollars for half an order of fries. Pretty bland food also, almost tasteless. Green beans weren't very warm and tasted like rubber, the cheese on the chicken wasn't even melted. I had to pour salt on my unseasoned philly and use ketchup. Breakfast menu items are still great tho. Had amazing service but there were only two tables in the entire place.

Food was great, service too, the best is you are never rushed in and out. Inviting and homey. Good place to study or meet friends or business. Try it you'll like it.

This is a great place for breakfast. I have never been here for lunch but I'm sure it's just as good. The service here is great. Very prompt and attentive. Food came fast and was delicious as always. I come to town several times a year and I always stop in and have breakfast when I'm here.

Enjoyed a good breakfast with my boy and grandkids.

Food is amazing, save for the biscuits which tend to be a little on the dry side for my tastes. Staff had always been nice and the environment is clean and welcoming. Recommended stop for anyone who is visiting.

Good fresh food, nice attentive waitstaff.

Breakfast buffet was OK, but the coffee was good. Our waitress seemed new, but one of the back ladies came and refilled our coffee with a smile.

I'm giving 3 stars just based off the service our waitress was very nice and very attentive. On the other hand I would not recommend the breakfast buffet. It was hotel food quality and picked over. Adult breakfast buffet is $8.99 but the quality and quantity doesn't match up. Eggs were very dry. Not all of us could find waffles. Maybe it would have been better off the menu but probably won't be back.

Was great food as usual.. the ham steak is a real ham steak... My brother's chicken fried steak was perfect too.. and his wife's club sandwich was huge and fresh and clean.. not all sloppy. Well done Drake's!... As usual

The food is great, portions are small for the price. Catfish is too salty but still well prepared and cooked. Steak is small for the price, still delicious. Table service was very good and employees well mannered. Children's chicken nuggets is not enough to fill a kid even with the side of fries. The yeast rolls were excellent, I would love it if I could just order a bag of those to go. All in all, a 4 out of 5 stars for this little diner.

The food cheap and good and the Waiter s are really nice

One of the best breakfasts ever. Not only was the food great but it was because we were on our way to go fishing. My best friend, his grandfather and myself. We had a great day. His grandfather passed a short while later. Treasured day that day 💚

This used to be one of my favorites, tonight the Gumbo was cold and salty. The waitress did not refill the drinks even 1 time. They never checked to see if our food was okay or if we needed anything else even while walking by the table. Very disappointed 🙁

This is a good food meet with friends place. Now 7 days a week. Need a place to study, Eat at Drake's. Have to catch up on some bills or work, Eat at Drake's. Working on a book...Eat at Drake's. They welcome you with open arms and have the room for groups too. Good food, good people and good atmosphere. It's not perfect but then nether am I. My new hideout!

After sitting there for 40 mins after ordering waitress told us they were out of something we ordered another 15 to 20 min wait food was cold steak was dry. Leftover mashed potatoes. We have ate there 3 times and bin dissapointed.. overpriced.

Drakes used to be a great place to eat! New management has changed the environment completely. The waitresses seem a bit sketchy and the overall atmosphere is dirty and outdated. Food is hit or miss. Love the philly fries, and breakfast was pretty good. Would no recommend the buffet.

Down home/old style diner with sandwiches, soups, homestyle meals or breakfast.Clean, friendly staff, reasonably priced.

Went with a buddy to Starbird museum, stopped here to eat, first time for both of us. Wonderful server, delicious food (grilled pork chop, corn, mashed potatoes and gravy, excellent fried okra which is breaded in house, and some yummy coconut cream pie with flaky crust), good portions, low prices.

Awesome food .

Ordered vegetables and they had a good selection to choose from. The price was very reasonable at $5.99 for five vegetables and a roll. They even let me have dressing from their turkey and dressing entree as one of my choices. Appreciated they also had cranberry sauce to go with it.

Took over 30 minutes just to get an omelet and hash browns. Had to ask for silverware. Would not recommend this place to anyone

Ate 3 different meals .....all were tasty. 3 sides!!!!! Coconut pie was terrific.

Okay, so the place is clean and our waitress was literally running doing a great job. We went for breakfast, we were not impressed. He ordered the three meat omelette and it was cold. I had the bacon and one egg breakfast. My egg was over easy, I ordered medium. The hash browns we're cold and the bacon tasted strange. The food was just not good. The coffee was great and my cup was never empty. I'm hoping it was just a fluke and will give it another try.

Food was great, you could tell the gravy was homemade and not the package stuff most places have. Only thing I didn't like was that they didn't have any flavored liquid creamers and I had to ask for silverware then napkins, but those are small things honestly. Overall definitely worth a stop.

Nice little family place. We stopped in for breakfast. Pretty good options on the menu. Good service. Biscuits & gravy could use a little flavor, but at least there was actually a little sausage in it. We don't understand why we had to pay extra for rye toast though, since the biscuits & gravy were an included option for most of the breakfasts at no additional charge, and I would think biscuits with sausage gravy would cost at least a much as rye bread. Overall though, we were pleased and might go there again next time we're in the area.

Excellent service and the coffee hit the spot

My wife and I had breakfast. Server was very polite and attentive. Food was very good and served quickly... Ive only ever been there for breakfast but its been good every time, definitely recommend...

If you want to relive public school's cafeteria food then this is the place to be.

Only gave one star because the waitress was friendly. First Walked in and it was so hot in there that you couldn't relax and get comfortable. It was almost 100 degrees outside. My husband had to return his chicken fried steak and the remake wasnt even good. The club sandwich was at room temperate. The lettuce was wilted and not cold and crisp. Big disappointment!

Great service and catfish buffet!

Poor experience. Only one person was waiting on/serving customers, bussing tables, and checking people out. At the height of lunch time (12:15-1:20) on a Monday afternoon. This added a lot of unnecessary wait for the server to take our orders, bring out our drinks, and deliver our food. Of course not the fault of our server, she managed to be at least somewhat pleasant despite having to take care of about two dozen people spread across different tables. However, she did have trouble checking people out, as she had to dart between different iPad point of sale systems. It took her several minutes to check three people in line out. A TV monitor displaying ads for local businesses was located above our table. I wonder if the advertising brings additional money into the restaurant. Regardless, I hope the owner is paying its staff, especially the server, a better than average/more than a minimum wage.

I have never had to wait for service here no matter how busy they are. The wait staff is always cheerful and polite. Great country style food and generous portions. My favorite so far in the Grove, OK area.

My meal was very good. The food was hot and tasty. The service was fast and friendly. I'm pleased.

This place is unfriendly and wouldn't even bring us menu's after being there for a while. They wasn't busy!! I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone.

My daughter took me to lunch here today. I have eaten here a couple of times in a decade. I had the old fashion cheeseburger with cheddar. We split some fries and onion rings. The meal was excellent and priced reasonably. The service was friendly and even tried to recruit my daughter. The only complaint was that the wifi and the credit card machine were down. But I doubt that was Drakes fault.

Waitress was the very best. Onion rings are good you need to try them.
